Abstract

<abstract abstract-type="graphical" xml:lang="en" id="admi201500011-abs-0001"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p> <bold>A geometric method is presented to design cellular structures that actuate upon inflation.</bold> Through finite element simulations, it is demonstrated that these structures can undergo large directed expansions upon inflation and efficiently convert an input pressure into an output force.
