- <abstract abstract-type="main" xml:lang="en"> <title>Abstract</title> <p>The band gaps of oxide semiconductors including Cu<sub>2</sub>O, ZnO, Y<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub>, ZrO<sub>2</sub>, Nb<sub>2</sub>O<sub>5</sub>, In<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub>, SnO<sub>2</sub>, GeO<sub>2</sub>, and WO<sub>3</sub> are reduced significantly after rapid arc‐melting followed by cooling to room temperature within a few seconds.</p> </abstract>
