- <abstract abstract-type="main" xml:lang="en"> <title>Abstract</title> <p>The red long persistent phosphor (LPP) β‐Zn<sub>3</sub>(PO<sub>4</sub>)<sub>2</sub>: Mn<sup>2+</sup>, Dy<sup>3+</sup> is precipitated by addition of NH<sub>4</sub>OH to an aqueous or HNO<sub>3</sub> solution of ZnO, MnCO<sub>3</sub>, (NH<sub>4</sub>)<sub>2</sub>HPO<sub>4</sub>, and Dy<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub> followed by sintering in a thermal‐carbon reducing atmosphere (corundum crucible, 1223 K, 3 h).</p> </abstract>
