- <abstract abstract-type="graphical" xml:lang="en" id="aenm201570074-abs-0001"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p>In article number 1500274, Jaephil Cho and co‐workers report a novel, hybrid surface protection layer on a Li‐rich cathode material for lithium ion batteries. The spherical particles are secondary particles composed of small primary particles, and they are reinforced with hybrid surface treatment of Mg<sup>2+</sup> pillars and a Li‐Mg‐PO<sub>4</sub> layer. The strategy developed provides a way to inhibit unwanted side reactions and structural deterioration of Li‐rich cathode materials, thus allowing for increased cycling stability at elevated temperature. <graphic position="anchor" mimetype="image" xlink:href="ark:/27927/pgj1n9x931f" orientation="portrait" xlink:type="simple" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" /></p> </abstract>
