- <abstract abstract-type="main" xml:lang="en"> <title>Abstract</title> <p>Three new Δ<sup>1</sup>‐3‐ketosteroids characterized with a 9‐OH, subergosterones A–C (<bold>1</bold>–<bold>3</bold>), together with five known analogs <bold>4</bold>–<bold>8</bold>, were obtained from the gorgonian coral <italic>Subergorgia rubra</italic> collected from the South China Sea. The structures of <bold>1</bold>–<bold>3</bold>, including their absolute configurations, were determined by comprehensive spectroscopic methods and electronic circular dichroism (ECD) experiments. Compounds <bold>2</bold> and <bold>3</bold> exhibited inhibitory antibacterial activities against <italic>Bacillus cereus</italic> with <italic>MIC</italic> values of 1.56 μ<sc>M</sc>.</p> </abstract>
