<abstract abstract-type="author-highlights" id="abs0005"> <title id="sect0005">Highlights</title> <sec> <p id="spar0005"> <list id="lis0005"> <list-item id="lsti0005"> <label></label> <p id="par0155">Goblet cell density (GCD) was determined on bulbar conjunctiva of asymptomatic subjects.</p> </list-item> <list-item id="lsti0010"> <label></label> <p id="par0160">Correlation of GCD with tear function and ocular surface physiology was evaluated.</p> </list-item> <list-item id="lsti0015"> <label></label> <p id="par0165">GCD was found significantly correlated with tear break-up time.</p> </list-item> <list-item id="lsti0020"> <label></label> <p id="par0170">No correlation of GCD with Schirmer score, conjunctival redness and corneal staining was found.</p> </list-item> </list> </p> </sec> </abstract>
