Abstract

<abstract abstract-type="graphical" id="bkcs10340-abs-0001"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p id="bkcs10340-para-0001">The mechanism that can be speculated from the analytical results of ¹ H nuclear magnetic resonance (¹H NMR) spectrum of the copolymers is activated monomer pathway. According to the mechanism, both DTC and ε‐CL have been attacked by the catalyst imidazol‐2‐ylidene, which causes the break of acyl‐oxygen bond and then promotes the reaction with benzyl alcohol BnOH to form the ring‐opened adduct. The α‐chain end of the copolymer bears the ester from the initiating BnOH and the ω‐chain end is a primary alcohol and serves as the nucleophile in subsequent propagation.<graphic position="anchor" mimetype="image" xlink:href="ark:/27927/pgj1m94tc0k" orientation="portrait" xlink:type="simple" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" /></p> </abstract>
