Abstract

<abstract abstract-type="author-highlights" id="ab0010"> <title id="st0010">Highlights</title> <sec> <p id="sp0010"> <list id="ulist0010"> <list-item id="u0010"> <label></label> <p id="p0010">Cytology was compared to histopathology for the diagnosis of masses of the oral cavity of dogs and cats.</p> </list-item> <list-item id="u0015"> <label></label> <p id="p0015">FNI in dogs showed the highest sensitivity and specificity for oral tumours.</p> </list-item> <list-item id="u0020"> <label></label> <p id="p0020">In cats all methods had high sensitivity and specificity for oral lesions.</p> </list-item> <list-item id="u0025"> <label></label> <p id="p0025">Cytology is appropriate to correctly diagnose lesions of the oral cavity in dogs and cats.</p> </list-item> </list> </p> </sec> </abstract>
