- <abstract abstract-type="main" xml:lang="en"> <title>Abstract</title> <p>Based on the isonicotinic acid (HIN=pyridine‐4‐carboxylic acid), seven lanthanide metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) with the formula [Ln(IN)<sub>2</sub>L] (Ln=Eu (<bold>1</bold>), Tb (<bold>2</bold>), Er (<bold>3</bold>), Dy (<bold>4</bold>), Ho (<bold>5</bold>), Gd (<bold>6</bold>), La (<bold>7</bold>), L=OCH<sub>2</sub>CH<sub>2</sub>OH) have been synthesized by mixing Ln<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub> with HIN under solvothermal conditions, and characterized by single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction, powder X‐ray diffraction, infrared spectroscopy, and fluorescence spectroscopy. Crystal structural analysis shows that compounds <bold>1–6</bold> are isostructural, crystallize in a chiral space group <italic>P</italic>2<sub>1</sub>2<sub>1</sub>2<sub>1</sub>, whereas compound <bold>7</bold> crystallizes in space group <italic>C</italic>2/<italic>c</italic>. Nevertheless, they all consist of new intertwined chains. Simultaneously, on the basis of the above‐mentioned compounds, we have realized a rational design strategy to form the doped Ln MOFs [(Eu<sub><italic>x</italic></sub>Tb<sub>1−<italic>x</italic></sub>)(IN)<sub>2</sub>L] (<italic>x</italic>=0.35 (<bold>8</bold>), <italic>x</italic>=0.19 (<bold>9</bold>), <italic>x</italic>=0.06 (<bold>10</bold>)) by utilizing Tb<sup>III</sup> as the second "rare‐earth metal".
