<abstract abstract-type="graphical" xml:lang="en" id="adma201570165-abs-0001"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p>Confocal microscopy is used to image neural progenitor cells growing within a hydrogel. The cells can remodel the material, enabling formation of a three‐dimensional cellular network. The warmer colors in the image represent cells closer to the gel surface, and the cooler colors represent cells deeper inside the gel. Cell culture and microscopy were performed by Chris Madl; the artwork was prepared by Chelsea Castillo.
