Fluorescent nanoparticles binding a hyaluronan substructure, glucuronic acid, are used to image fixated and living cells and tissues. Plastic antibodies can be tailored to specific targets and easily labeled, and are physically and chemically stable. <graphic position="anchor" mimetype="image" xlink:href="ark:/27927/pgj14nkkmph" orientation="portrait" xlink:type="simple" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" /></p>
