- <abstract abstract-type="toc"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p> <graphic position="anchor" id="ga" xlink:href="ark:/27927/pgj148z5mkf" xlink:type="simple" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" />The sensitivities (<italic>S</italic>) of Y<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub> (YAG/LaAlO<sub>3</sub>):Yb<sup>3+</sup>/Er<sup>3+</sup> phosphors increased with increasing average bond covalency and the calculated values were basically in good agreement with our experimental results.</p> </abstract>
