-
<title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p>The Cover picture shows the dynamic process of ion electrosorption, in which anions are attracted and cations repelled from electrically charged electrodes based on highly porous carbons doped with heteroatoms. The N‐ or S‐doped carbons were prepared through a salt‐templating technique using ionic liquids and biomass as precursors. Despite the different chemical compositions, the carbons show very similar porosity. This allows the investigation of heteroatom effects on the performance during capacitive desalination. The carbons exhibit one of the highest salt sorption capacities so far reported, but the performance is limited especially because of oxygen functionalities.
