Abstract

<abstract abstract-type="author-highlights" id="abs0005"> <title id="sect0005">Highlights</title> <sec> <p id="spar0005"> <list id="lis0005"> <list-item id="lsti0005"> <label></label> <p id="par0005">The InveCe.Ab study estimated the prevalence of dementia and cognitive impairment.</p> </list-item> <list-item id="lsti0010"> <label></label> <p id="par0010">It also looked for associations with socio-demographic and genetic risk factors.</p> </list-item> <list-item id="lsti0015"> <label></label> <p id="par0015">Dementia prevalence was 3.0%; AD was more frequent in ApoE epsilon-4 carriers.</p> </list-item> <list-item id="lsti0020"> <label></label> <p id="par0020">Dementia risk was greater in southern-born Italians, VD risk greater in single people.</p> </list-item> <list-item id="lsti0025"> <label></label> <p id="par0025">CIND occurred in 7.8%, with males and those born in the North East at more risk.</p> </list-item> </list> </p> </sec> </abstract>
