- <abstract abstract-type="main"> <title>Abstract</title> <sec id="pca2557-sec-0001" sec-type="section"> <title>Introduction</title> <p> <italic>Lamiophlomis rotata</italic> (Duyiwei) is a folk herbal medicine that traditionally has been used in China as a hemostatic agent. Raw plant materials used for medicinal products from different geographical regions are often inconsistent in chemical composition. Metabolic fingerprinting provides a new approach for distinguishing the geographical origins of <italic>L</italic>. <italic>rotata</italic>.</p> </sec> <sec id="pca2557-sec-0002" sec-type="section"> <title>Objective</title> <p>To identify metabolites that contribute to the different geographical regions of <italic>L</italic>. <italic>rotata</italic> samples.</p> </sec> <sec id="pca2557-sec-0003" sec-type="section"> <title>Methods</title> <p> <italic>Lamiophlomis rotata</italic> metabolomics were performed by <sup>1</sup>H‐nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy and multivariate statistical analyses. The <italic>L</italic>. <italic>rotata</italic> metabolic profile was prepared for NMR measurements using methanol‐<italic>d<sub>4</sub></italic> solvent.
