- <abstract abstract-type="main" xml:lang="en"> <title>Abstract</title> <p>Iodine (I<sub>2</sub>) acts as a bifunctional halogen‐bond donor connecting two macrocyclic molecules of the bowl‐shaped halogen‐bond acceptor, <italic>N</italic>‐cyclohexyl ammonium resorcinarene chloride <bold>1</bold>, to form the dimeric capsule [(1, 4‐dioxane)<sub>3</sub>@<bold>1</bold><sub>2</sub>(I<sub>2</sub>)<sub>2</sub>]. The dimeric capsule is constructed solely through halogen bonds and has a single cavity (<italic>V</italic>=511 Å<sup>3</sup>) large enough to encapsulate three 1, 4‐dioxane guest molecules.</p> </abstract>
