<abstract abstract-type="graphical" xml:lang="en" id="aenm201500375-abs-0001"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p> <bold>A nanostructured architecture is proposed for reduced‐temperature solid oxide fuel cells, </bold> featuring thin scandium‐stabilized zirconia electrolytes sandwiched between two porous 430L metallic layers. Impregnating nanoscale catalysts into the porous 430L scaffolds—Ce_0.8Sm_0.2O_1.9/Ni at the anodes and SmBa_0.5Sr_0.5Co₂O₅ at the cathodes—yields encouraging power densities of 1.02 W cm⁻² at 600 °C and 0.6 W cm⁻² at 550 °C. <graphic position="anchor" mimetype="image" xlink:href="ark:/27927/pgjr8vg07g" orientation="portrait" xlink:type="simple" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" /></p> </abstract>
