- <abstract abstract-type="toc"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p> <graphic position="anchor" id="ga" xlink:href="ark:/27927/pgjqwn6jsw" xlink:type="simple" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" />TiO<sub>2</sub>:C superlattices with ultra-low thermal conductivity are fabricated from atomic/molecular layer deposited (ALD/MLD) inorganic–organic [(TiO<sub>2</sub>)<sub><italic>m</italic></sub>(Ti–O–C<sub>6</sub>H<sub>4</sub>–O–)<sub><italic>k</italic>=1</sub>]<sub><italic>n</italic></sub> thin films <italic>via</italic> an annealing treatment that converts the as-deposited monomolecular organic layers into sub-nanometer-thick graphitic layers confined within the TiO<sub>2</sub> matrix.</p> </abstract>
