Abstract

<abstract abstract-type="author-highlights" id="ab0010"> <title id="st0010">Highlights</title> <sec> <p id="sp0010"> <list id="ulist0010"> <list-item id="u0010"> <label></label> <p id="p0010">A blinded, placebo-controlled trial was conducted to evaluate valnemulin premix for treatment of epizootic rabbit enteropathy (ERE).</p> </list-item> <list-item id="u0015"> <label></label> <p id="p0015">Valnemulin was administered in-feed at 20 or 35 parts per million (ppm) for 21 days after the first case was confirmed.</p> </list-item> <list-item id="u0020"> <label></label> <p id="p0020">ERE mortality was 23% in untreated rabbits and 11% and 7.6% in rabbits treated with 20 and 35 ppm valnemulin, respectively.</p> </list-item> <list-item id="u0025"> <label></label> <p id="p0025">Non-ERE related adverse events occurred in all groups at similar frequencies.</p> </list-item> <list-item id="u0030"> <label></label> <p id="p0030">Valnemulin treatment had no detrimental effects on appetite, weight gain or feed conversion rate.</p> </list-item> </list> </p> </sec> </abstract>
