- <abstract abstract-type="graphical" xml:lang="en" id="adma201500649-abs-0001"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p> <bold>Controllable bandgap widening</bold> from 1.8 to 2.6 eV is reported from oxidized MoS<sub>2</sub> sheets that are composed of quilted phases of various MoS<italic><sub>x</sub></italic>O<italic><sub>y</sub></italic> flakes. The exfoliated flakes have large size (≥100 μm × 100 μm) sheets with average thickness of 1.7 nm. Remarkably, fine reversible tuning of the bandgap is achieved by postprocessing sulfurization of the MoS<italic><sub>x</sub></italic>O<italic><sub>y</sub></italic> sheets. <graphic position="anchor" mimetype="image" xlink:href="ark:/27927/pgjnfxc2zn" orientation="portrait" xlink:type="simple" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" /></p> </abstract>
