- <abstract abstract-type="toc"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p> <graphic position="anchor" id="ga" xlink:href="ark:/27927/pgjn2mzgt3" xlink:type="simple" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" />We demonstrate from kinetic studies that under the experimental conditions proposed for the ORAC protocol, ORAC values do not correlate with the capacity of antioxidants to trap peroxyl radicals (ROO˙), suggesting a dominant role of alkoxyl radicals (RO˙) in the assay.</p> </abstract>
