- <abstract abstract-type="graphical" xml:lang="en" id="ppsc201400205-abs-0001"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p> <bold>The deposition of water solution containing colloidal nanorods on superhydrophobic substrates</bold> leads to the formation of a suspended drop. After evaporation, a robust 3D nanocrystal assembly remains and can be handled independently from the substrate, for example for the use as color converters. Optical fluorescence imaging reveals a hollow dome‐shape of the microstructure, and X‐ray diffraction confirms the material as CdSe/CdS nanorods with low contamination. <graphic position="anchor" mimetype="image" xlink:href="ark:/27927/pgjn232484" orientation="portrait" xlink:type="simple" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" /></p> </abstract>
