- <abstract abstract-type="graphical" xml:lang="en" id="adma201405452-abs-0001"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p> <bold>Lead‐free bismuth‐based perovskite oxides</bold> with polarization directed along the [001]<sub>p</sub> primitive perovskite unit cell edge, analogous to tetragonal PbTiO<sub>3</sub>, are synthesized at ambient pressure. Enhanced piezoelectric properties, large polarizations, and high depolarization temperatures are observed in the wide morphotropic phase boundary region formed with a rhombohedral phase, with up to 92.5% Bi on the perovskite A site. <graphic position="anchor" mimetype="image" xlink:href="ark:/27927/pgjkxzh2g7" orientation="portrait" xlink:type="simple" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" /></p> </abstract>
