<abstract abstract-type="author-highlights" id="abs0005"> <title id="sect0005">Highlights</title> <sec> <p id="spar0005"> <list id="lis0005"> <list-item id="lsti0005"> <label></label> <p id="par0005">We tested storage conditions for excess split-thickness skin.</p> </list-item> <list-item id="lsti0010"> <label></label> <p id="par0010">Histologically, no differences were observed between conditions.</p> </list-item> <list-item id="lsti0015"> <label></label> <p id="par0015">Storage time can be extended by using RPMI instead of normal saline.</p> </list-item> <list-item id="lsti0020"> <label></label> <p id="par0020">Storage of skin in RPMI resulted in higher viability, based on activity.</p> </list-item> </list> </p> </sec> </abstract>
