<abstract abstract-type="author-highlights" id="abs0005"> <title id="sect0005">Highlights</title> <sec> <p id="spar0005"> <list id="lis0005"> <list-item id="lsti0005"> <label></label> <p id="par0005">Incidence of filamentous fungal infections (FFI) was 1.7%.</p> </list-item> <list-item id="lsti0010"> <label></label> <p id="par0010">FFI are essentially cutaneous and occur in the most severe burned patients.</p> </list-item> <list-item id="lsti0015"> <label></label> <p id="par0015">The patients do not present the classic immunosuppression risk factors.</p> </list-item> <list-item id="lsti0020"> <label></label> <p id="par0020">30% of the patients with burn wound aspergillosis died.</p> </list-item> <list-item id="lsti0025"> <label></label> <p id="par0025">This series is the first one in Europe to describe burned patients with FFI.</p> </list-item> </list> </p> </sec> </abstract>
