Abstract

<abstract abstract-type="author-highlights" id="abs0005"> <title id="sect0005">Highlights</title> <sec> <p id="spar0005"> <list id="lis0005"> <list-item id="lsti0005"> <label></label> <p id="par0005">We analyzed National Immunization Survey of Teens 2008–2012 data to examine what proportion of adolescent girls receives HPV vaccine at &lt;13 years of age.</p> </list-item> <list-item id="lsti0010"> <label></label> <p id="par0010">The weighted proportion of girls who initiated the vaccine at &lt;13 years of age increased from 14.1% in 2008 to 55.9% in 2012.</p> </list-item> <list-item id="lsti0015"> <label></label> <p id="par0015">Additional efforts are needed to increase HPV vaccine uptake among adolescent girls as only half of them receive this vaccine at ACIP recommended age.</p> </list-item> </list> </p> </sec> </abstract>
