<abstract abstract-type="author-highlights" id="ab0010"> <title id="st0010">Highlights</title> <sec> <p id="sp0010"> <list id="ulist0010"> <list-item id="u0010"> <label></label> <p id="p0010">IL-1β, TNFα, IL-6, IL-12β of Chinese soft-shelled turtle were molecularly characterized.</p> </list-item> <list-item id="u0015"> <label></label> <p id="p0015">Turtles were injected with <italic>Aeromonas hydrophila</italic> before and after acute cold stress, and after the temperature was restored.</p> </list-item> <list-item id="u0020"> <label></label> <p id="p0020">The transcription levels of IL-1β, TNFα, IL-6, IL-12β, IL-8 and IFNγ were investigated in spleen and intestine at 24 hour post the injection.</p> </list-item> <list-item id="u0025"> <label></label> <p id="p0025">The expression of the selected cytokines at mRNA level was generally enhanced after acute cold stress in spleen and intestine.</p> </list-item> </list> </p> </sec> </abstract>
