Abstract

<abstract xml:lang="en" abstract-type="author-highlights" id="ab010"> <title id="st185">Highlights</title> <sec> <p id="sp0085"> <list id="l0005"> <list-item id="o0005"> <label></label> <p id="p0230">Active Surveillance is recommended for the treatment of localised prostate cancer; however this option may be under-used.</p> </list-item> <list-item id="o0010"> <label></label> <p id="p0235">We found no adverse impact on psychological wellbeing associated with Active Surveillance treatment.</p> </list-item> <list-item id="o0015"> <label></label> <p id="p0240">We found no differences in psychological wellbeing when Active Surveillance was compared to active treatments.</p> </list-item> <list-item id="o0020"> <label></label> <p id="p0245">Patients can be told that Active Surveillance has no increased risk to their psychological wellbeing for consent purposes.</p> </list-item> <list-item id="o0025"> <label></label> <p id="p0250">Clinicians need not limit access to Active Surveillance based on expectation of adverse impacts on psychological wellbeing.</p> </list-item> </list> </p> </sec> </abstract>
