<abstract xml:lang="en" abstract-type="author-highlights" id="ab005"> <title id="st075">Highlights</title> <sec> <p id="sp0005"> <list id="l0005"> <list-item id="o0005"> <label></label> <p id="p0120">Tape stripping has been evaluated to develop an <italic>in vitro</italic> model of compromised skin.</p> </list-item> <list-item id="o0010"> <label></label> <p id="p0125">Electrical Resistance, Trans-Epidermal Water Loss and Tritiated Water Flux were used.</p> </list-item> <list-item id="o0015"> <label></label> <p id="p0130">Skin stripping regimes were used to remove different proportions of the <italic>stratum corneum</italic>.</p> </list-item> <list-item id="o0020"> <label></label> <p id="p0135">Electrical Resistance proved to be a rapid and robust model for compromised skin.</p> </list-item> </list> </p> </sec> </abstract>
