- <abstract abstract-type="normal"> <title>Abstract</title> <sec id="abs1" sec-type="general"> <title>Objective</title> <p>To examine the association between breakfast skipping and physical activity among US adolescents aged 12–19 years.</p> </sec> <sec id="abs2" sec-type="general"> <title>Design</title> <p>A cross-sectional study of nationally representative 2007–2008 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) data.</p> </sec> <sec id="abs3" sec-type="general"> <title>Setting</title> <p>Breakfast skipping was assessed by two 24 h dietary recalls. Physical activity was self-reported by participants and classified based on meeting national recommendations for physical activity for the appropriate age group.
