Abstract

<abstract abstract-type="main" xml:lang="en"> <title>Abstract</title> <p>The complexation of four neutral guest molecules containing carbon‐oxygen double bonds, <italic>i.e</italic>., 1, 6‐diacetoxyhexane (<bold>1</bold>), dimethyl hexanedioate (<bold>2</bold>), hexanal (<bold>3</bold>), and 2‐hexanone (<bold>4</bold>), by per‐ethylated pillar[5]arene is reported. These guests show remarkably different binding affinities. For example, ester <bold>1</bold> could be fully engulfed by the host cavity to form a [2]pseudorotaxane‐type inclusion complex, while for <bold>2</bold>, no obvious host‐guest interaction was observed.</p> </abstract>
