<abstract abstract-type="toc"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p> <graphic position="anchor" id="ga" xlink:href="ark:/27927/pgj92rzr0r" xlink:type="simple" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" />Co(<sc>iii</sc>) complexes of curcumin and phenanthroline bases show remarkable visible-light induced cytotoxicity in HeLa cells but are much less toxic in dark and to normal cells. The complexes bind to HSA with significant affinity.</p> </abstract>
