<abstract abstract-type="toc"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p> <graphic position="anchor" id="ga" xlink:href="ark:/27927/pgj416mbj1" xlink:type="simple" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" />A methodology is introduced to synthesize main-chain liquid-crystalline elastomers (LCEs) using a thiol–acrylate-based reaction. This method can program an aligned LCE monodomain and offer spatio-temporal control over liquid-crystalline behavior.</p> </abstract>
