<abstract abstract-type="toc"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p> <graphic position="anchor" id="ga" xlink:href="ark:/27927/pgjbg3d4vv" xlink:type="simple" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" />Two kinds of POSS-based organic–inorganic hybrid porous materials have been synthesized <italic>v</italic>ia Friedel–Crafts and Scholl coupling reactions, for the first time, using low-cost building blocks <italic>i.e.</italic>, octaphenylsilsesquioxanes and simple knitting approaches to obtain high Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET) surface area porous polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane (POSS)-based hybrid materials.</p> </abstract>
