<abstract abstract-type="toc"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p> <graphic position="anchor" id="ga" xlink:href="ark:/27927/pgj410d6sj" xlink:type="simple" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" />Upon deposition of Cr atoms on ultrathin NaCl/Au(111) films they form substituting dopants either replacing Na or Cl ions, thereby changing the electronic properties of the film and in particular the work function.</p> </abstract>
