<abstract abstract-type="toc"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p> <graphic position="anchor" id="ga" xlink:href="ark:/27927/pgj9pd5s4p" xlink:type="simple" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" />Aerial oxidation of benzothiadiazines selectively affords the corresponding benzothiadiazine <italic>S</italic>-oxides in the presence of Cu²⁺ ions. Structural studies reveal that the <italic>S</italic>-oxide appears to be a strong hydrogen-bond acceptor.</p> </abstract>
