<abstract abstract-type="toc"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p> <graphic position="anchor" id="ga" xlink:href="ark:/27927/pgj40w7kv1" xlink:type="simple" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" />An investigation of Eu(<sc>iii</sc>) CB<italic>n</italic> complexes in solution using calorimetry, TRFS, EXAFS and DFT calculations shows the presence of Eu(<sc>iii</sc>) in different binding modes depending on the cavity size of CB<italic>n</italic> and the stoichiometry of the complex.</p> </abstract>
