- <abstract abstract-type="toc"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p> <graphic position="anchor" id="ga" xlink:href="ark:/27927/pgj40vrcc6" xlink:type="simple" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" />The first known M–As–Ge clusters, [V@Ge<sub>8</sub>As<sub>4</sub>]<sup>3−</sup> and [Nb@Ge<sub>8</sub>As<sub>6</sub>]<sup>3−</sup>, exhibit non-deltahedral topologies, with "V<sup>5+</sup>" being the hardest cation ever embedded in endohedral Zintl anions.</p> </abstract>
