Abstract

<abstract abstract-type="main" xml:lang="en"> <title>Abstract</title> <sec id="jocs12451-sec-0001" sec-type="section"> <p>An 80‐year‐old man with symptomatic severe aortic valve stenosis was referred for transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) after balloon aortic valvuloplasty (BAV). The TAVR procedure was aborted because of identification of a mobile mass attached to the leading edge of the right cusp of the aortic valve on a transesophageal echocardiography. Surgical aortic valve replacement (SAVR) was performed and this mass was found to be an aortic cusp fenestration rupture that was caused by the BAV. doi: 10.1111/jocs.12451 <italic>(J Card Surg 2015;30:251–252)</italic></p> </sec> </abstract>
