<abstract abstract-type="main" xml:lang="en"> <title>Abstract</title> <p>(Ph<sub>4</sub>P)<sub>4</sub> [(SCN)<sub>4</sub>Cr(OH)<sub>2</sub>Cr(NCS)<sub>4</sub>]·2MeCN (I) is synthesized from a solution of [(MeCN)<sub>5</sub>CrOCr(MeCN)<sub>5</sub>](BF<sub>4</sub>)<sub>2</sub> and (Ph<sub>4</sub>P)SCN (obtained from an aqueous mixture of (Ph<sub>4</sub>P)Cl and NaSCN in 91% yield) in MeCN (40 °C, 36% yield).</p> </abstract>
