<abstract abstract-type="main" xml:lang="en"> <title>Abstract</title> <p>Ca<sub>2</sub>Co<sub>2</sub>O<sub>5</sub> is prepared by calcination of a stoichiometric mixture of CaCO<sub>3</sub> and Co<sub>3</sub>O<sub>4</sub> in O<sub>2</sub> (Pt crucible, 900 °C, 1 d) followed by sintering (1000 °C, 1 d).</p> </abstract>
