- <abstract abstract-type="main" xml:lang="en"> <title>Abstract</title> <p>Both long‐term air exposure of BaFe<sub>2</sub>(PO<sub>4</sub>)<sub>2</sub> and moderate temperature of <375 °C leads to topochemical oxidation yielding iron‐depleted compounds BaFe<sub>2‐x</sub>(PO<sub>4</sub>)<sub>2</sub> with mixed Fe<sup>II</sup>/Fe<sup>III</sup> valence.</p> </abstract>
