- <abstract abstract-type="graphical" xml:lang="en"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p> <bold>The cover picture shows</bold> a schematic of the catalytic oxygen "evolution" reaction inside a well‐defined ruthenium oxide nanochannel structure. The reaction starts with water and proceeds via a number of intermediates. Finally, oxygen gas, O<sub>2</sub>, is evolved. The investigated reaction pathway is indicated from left to right by the red and white atoms in the middle of the image. In their Communication, A. D. Doyle et al. show that nanoscopic channels can substantially improve catalytic activity by overcoming previously limiting thermodynamic energy‐scaling relationships, which govern the overpotential (i.e. the energy losses) of the system.
