- <abstract abstract-type="graphical" xml:lang="en"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p> <italic> <bold>The fluorenyl cation</bold> </italic> is a highly reactive, antiaromatically destabilized carbenium ion. In their Communication on <ext-link ext-link-type="doi" xlink:type="simple" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">page 2656 ff., </ext-link> W. Sander, E. Sanchez‐Garcia et al. report how this cation can be synthesized and spectroscopically characterized in amorphous water ice at cryogenic temperatures.
