- <abstract abstract-type="graphical" xml:lang="en" id="adma201405110-abs-0001"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p> <bold>A switchable diode</bold> in a 2D semiconductor‐molecular junction heterostructure is reported. MoS<sub>2</sub> is exfoliated on top of a monolayer of azobenzene‐substituted thiols on gold. Photoisomerization of the azobenzenes results in switching between a rectifier with rectifying ratios of 10<sup>4</sup> and a conductive state, as revealed by conducting atomic force microscopy. <boxed-text content-type="graphic" position="anchor" orientation="portrait"><graphic position="anchor" mimetype="image" xlink:href="ark:/27927/pgh3xbsx404" orientation="portrait" xlink:type="simple" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" /></boxed-text></p> </abstract>
