<abstract abstract-type="main"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p>We consider an arbitrary Lagrangian–Eulerian evolving surface finite element method for the numerical approximation of advection and diffusion of a conserved scalar quantity on a moving surface.
