<abstract abstract-type="graphical" xml:lang="en"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p> <bold>The inside cover picture shows</bold> the unique opportunity offered by Mnk inhibitors in simultaneously targeting the Ras/Raf/Erk, MKK/p38 and Akt/mTOR/eIF4E pathways in human cancers. The compound shown targets Mnk2 with low nanomolar potency, and is capable of abrogating anti‐apoptotic protein Mcl‐1 and inducing apoptosis in MV4‐11 leukemia cells.
