- <abstract abstract-type="main" xml:lang="en"> <title>Abstract</title> <p>Three new organically templated copper(I) halides formulated (C<sub>10</sub>H<sub>22</sub>N<sub>2</sub>)<sub>2</sub>[Cu<sub>4</sub>I<sub>8</sub>] (<bold>1</bold>), (C<sub>10</sub>H<sub>22</sub>N<sub>2</sub>)<sub>2</sub>[Cu<sub>4</sub>I<sub>4</sub>Br<sub>4</sub>] (<bold>2</bold>), and C<sub>20</sub>H<sub>44</sub>N<sub>4</sub>[Cu<sub>4</sub>I<sub>4</sub>Br<sub>4</sub>] (<bold>3</bold>) {C<sub>10</sub>H<sub>22</sub>N<sub>2</sub> = <italic>N</italic>, <italic>N</italic>′‐diethyl‐1, 4‐diazabicyclo‐[2.2.2]octane (<bold>T1</bold>), C<sub>20</sub>H<sub>44</sub>N<sub>4</sub> = 4, 4′‐(butane‐1, 4‐diyl)bis(1‐ethyl‐1, 4‐diazonia‐bicyclo[2.2.2]octane) (<bold>T2</bold>)} were synthesized under solvothermal conditions by an <italic>in situ</italic> copper reduction route. The structures of these compounds are constructed by similar inorganic anion cluster skeleton, formulated Cu<sub>4</sub><italic>X</italic><sub>4</sub><italic>X</italic>′<sub>4</sub> (<italic>X</italic> = I, <italic>X</italic>′ = I, Br), and organic templates. The organic templates <bold>T1</bold> and <bold>T2</bold> in the structures originated from the <italic>in situ</italic> N‐alkylation reaction between DABCO (DABCO = <italic>N, N</italic>′‐dimethyl‐1, 4‐diazabicyclo[2.2.2]octane), alcohol solution, and alkyl bromine.
