Abstract

<abstract abstract-type="main" xml:lang="en"> <title>Abstract</title> <p>Solvothermal reactions of 4‐cyanopyridine <italic>N</italic>‐oxide, NaN₃, and hydrated <italic>M</italic>Cl₂ (<italic>M</italic> = Cu, Co) in a mixture of EtOH/H₂O afford the 3D polymer [Cu^I(4‐ptz)]<italic>_n</italic> (<bold>1</bold>) and the mononuclear complex [Co^II(4‐ptz)₂(H₂O)₄] (<bold>2</bold>) (4‐ptz = 5‐(4‐pyridine <italic>N</italic>‐oxide) tetrazolate). The crystal structures of both compounds were determined by X‐ray crystallography, in which the ligand 4‐ptz exhibited different coordination modes. The thermal stability of <bold>1</bold> was measured by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and the solid state luminescence property of <bold>1</bold> was investigated at room temperature.</p> </abstract>
