<abstract abstract-type="main" xml:lang="en"> <title>Abstract</title> <p>A new series of transition metal‐doped Sillen—Aurivillius phases, Bi₆Ti₂MO₁₄Cl (M: Cr, Mn, Fe), is prepared by solid state reaction of the corresponding metal oxides and BiOCl (evacuated quartz tube, 1093 K (Cr, Fe) or 1043 K (Mn), 20—100 h).</p> </abstract>
